Just simple things that go by, unnoticed, and their meaningless nature to some, can be the world to others.
Who would need anything complicated for happiness? ...when simplicity brings so much more...
Like drawing lines on the sand... like spreading your hands on the dew on the grass on a winter morning... Like fumbling all around for the candle and matchbox during a power outage in the middle of March, lighting it then and making funny images with the shadows of your hands on the walls....
Like dusting off the PC and Music System on an off day...
Like making a prank call or two to friends and even unknown...
Like watching ten thousand raindrops grace the sky...
Sitting on the bed with knees up to the chest and watching the rain fall kindly on the window glass and leak down gradually with different speeds...
Sliding the hands out of the window, following the rain drops and listening raptly to their sound.... using the rain as a lullaby...
... and then raising your head up and looking through the window as soon as you realise that there are no longer sounds of rain drops falling on the window.. the rain is gone... hearing nothing but silence.... going back and nestling up in the bed.... for a few minutes more...
Like watching the sun rising over an untrodden road from the terrace ....
Going for a walk down the street early morning when still dark, feeding the roadside dogs with left-over rotis from the night and returning home with the milk pouch from Mother Dairy outlet, but oops, forgot to bring the wallet! What now? How to pay? The dairy owner knows you by now... you pay him with just one of your smiles - the best thing early in the morning and a sorry! And he trusts that you would pay him later....
Like singing and dancing while doing the dishes, becoming a child again for a split second, easily amused and willing to compromise....
...and these simple things, including a smile and a nod, make all the difference....
