The Indian cricket team have earned themselves a well deserved victory over the English team in the 3rd Test at Trent Bridge, Nottingham. After the drubbing they got in the 2nd Test at Lord's (the Indian batting line-up had failed to even play 90 overs in the two innings) and the backlash by the Indian fans that followed, Team India put up a much better show to win the 3rd Test. The Indian team registered a 203 run victory over England, thereby keeping their hopes alive in the five-match Test series. The Indian team management hadn't got the team combination right in the 2nd test, which they corrected in the 3rd Test.
One also has to admit that the captain of the English team Joe Root erred in choosing to bowl first after winning the toss, and also by not picking Sam Curran for the test match, who was the Man of the Match in the previous test, thereby gifting a huge advantage to the Indian team. Nonetheless, the Indian team still needed to bat and bowl extremely well, which they did almost throughout the test match, resulting in their victory.

This victory was quite similar to the Perth Test match win in 2008 against Australia after having lost the Sydney Test. The Indian team had bounced back in the Perth Test by virtue of the huge partnership between Dravid and Tendulkar, just as the partnership between Kohli and Rahane on day one in this test match.

I only wish the team could keep up this intensity and perform consistently. But alas, how often have we seen complacency seeping in?
