Happy New Year |
Now that 2019 is coming to an end in a few moments from now, let me wish you all a very Happy 2020!
May 2020 be a safe year for women and girls, a more peaceful year with no more of hate mongering, less of pseudo-nationalism, less of violent protests and destruction of public properties... May it be a year with less of theatrics, more of accountability and no more indifference to someone's sufferings... more of concrete action and no more perfunctory words from the powers that be (read the politicians).
Hoping that people will be a bit more considerate, compassionate and responsible and try not to hurt anyone knowingly. I pray that each one of us will do everything possible (in whatever little way that might be) to bring back 'Humanity' back to life, so that no one feels any more that it is a curse to be born in a particular gender or caste or religion!
In the past one year and in the years before it, I have learned quite a few life lessons - from my experiences, from my mistakes and from my surroundings. But the most important lesson that I have learned is that Contentment is the key to Happiness. Life may not always turn out the way we had planned. The resulting disappointment can easily turn into bitterness and anger. But that's when we need to accept the situation and be ready to give it another try or else move on to fulfil our next dream. Rather than constantly looking back and pondering over our disappointments, it is better to look ahead and focus on something more productive - our next goal, isn't it?
Do not be scared to take risks, to make mistakes (however make sure to learn from them). Failing, making mistakes is a part of the learning process.
Whatever you do, do whole-heartedly.
