Day before yesterday while I was working on a project on my desktop, suddenly something went wrong and the screen went blank. First I thought it was probably the cable of my desktop screen that had gotten loose, but it wasn't the case. Was it the SMPS?, I thought. So I opened up the cabinet to check with the power connections and my SMPS but they looked okay. I couldn't ascertain either whether it was the motherboard that had some trouble or my hard-disk. I was in the midst of an important project and here I was, instead of working on it, was trying to figure out what had gone wrong with my system! I didn't know what was the issue. So I thought it better to call a PC repairing guy. Upon examining thoroughly, he concluded that my PC had passed its prime and that my motherboard and hard disk both needed to be changed and there was no other way my PC would start again otherwise. He was true, my desktop was almost five years old and so it would have made no sense to buy new parts and setting them up again into an old PC like mine. I had a better option still, I could buy a new desktop.
A friend had suggested me to have a look at the latest notebook
ASUS EeeBook X205TA. But for some reason, I have never been that comfortable working on laptops, I have always preferred the desktops. Even though laptops give one a great advantage with their portability factor but I find the desktops more reliable and robust. My old laptop had failed me so many times, it would often go bonkers at crucial junctures, not to mean that this netbook too would fail me but I feel more comfortable working on desktops. So I am going to buy a new desktop for myself. I was going through some models of Lenovo and Dell desktops yesterday when I stumbled upon this particular model desktop from Asus --
ASUS All In One PC ET2040. And I must say, I was completely enamoured looking at its design and the features. Not only does it look really sleek and funky but also seems to be a mean machine, going by its feature-list. And it got one incredible feature that caught my attention - an in-built UPS power back up that could last for up to an hour! Wow. That would surely come in handy, more so here in Delhi where we have frequent power cuts.
Coming with an Intel Pentium Quad Core J2900 Processor of 2.41 GHz with Turbo Boost upto 2.66 GHz coupled with 2GB RAM and 500GB Hard Drive space, I don't think one would ever need to worry about computer getting stuck or something like that. I am sure problems of those sorts would never arise. And it also comes with a 19.5'' LED monitor with HD screen that would give a resolution 1366x768 pixels. Add to that a pre-installed Windows 8.1 BING 64-Bit Operating System!
What more would anyone want from a desktop? It also have got an Innovative Gesture Control by which one can control multimedia players or browse the internet from up to five meters away from your computer.
ASUS All In One PC ET2040 makes it all possible with advanced Hand-Gesture Recognition Software (HGRS) that uses the built-in camera to accurately interpret movements. I can play songs or videos, adjust player settings, or zoom and rotate photos — all from a distance, without ever touching a screen, keyboard or mouse. Wow!
I also read that with its ASUS SonicMaster Technology, it gives a rich, crystal-clear sound.
ASUS All In One PC ET2040 has built-in stereo speakers powered by ASUS SonicMaster technology for the ultimate audio experience. So one can now enjoy deeper and richer bass, wider frequency response, true-to-life surround sound, powerful output, distinct vocals, and pristine clarity. Every song, movie, and game would sound better, thanks to carefully-balanced dynamic audio.
With three SuperSpeed USB 3.0 ports,
ASUS All In One PC ET2040 can also recharge one's smartphones, tablets or other USB devices up to 50% faster than with USB 2.0, and transfer data between devices up to 10 times faster.
This desktop with its features certainly looks to be a reliable, robust PC for all works and for all seasons. And it comes at only Rs 25,999! Yes, I have now made up mind to buy this
ASUS All In One PC ET2040 Desktop.
My son, I am sure, is going to love this desktop and with the Intel HD Graphics that this desktop comes with, he would love it more to play his video games on it.
