Not very long ago, it was only limited to the print classifieds; people only had the option of printed media such as magazines and newspapers to post their classified ads for reaching out to prospective customers. But ever since advertising found its way to the Internet, things have only become smoother and convenient, more so with Quikr. The other day while I was working on my project and simultaneously retrieving some data from my back-up storage (my external hard disk), I noticed that the transfer to my laptop was happening at a snail's pace. It was infuriatingly slow, I just had no idea why it was taking so long to transfer a few hundred MBs of data from the external hard disk to my laptop. It was only some three months back when I had purchased this new Western Digital external hard disk of 1TB capacity. "How could it conk out so soon?", I wondered. Just then a message flashed on my laptop's screen saying that my external hard disk had in fact developed bad sectors and that it had to be formatted! That surely came as a jolt but more than the heartbreak of losing all my important data that were already present in my external hard disk, I was more concerned about how to and where to store my current programming data. I could always get my faulty Western Digital external hard disk replaced at their service centre any day since it is still within the stipulated warranty period but I still needed to keep my programming data somewhere. I made up my mind then and there to go for another external hard disk of a larger capacity (2TB) for back-up storage. But I didn't want to invest on a new one, even an old HDD, in good working condition, could easily do for me. And this time, I thought to go for Seagate instead of Western Digital again. So at once I decided to look for it on Quikr. There can be no better place to go than Quikr if one were thinking to buy some used computer peripherals.
My previous experiences with Quikr had all been extremely satisfying and so I didn't even think of going anywhere else. I only had to log into my Quikr account and search for an external hard disk under the category of "Computer Peripherals". And voila! A list of sellers showed up on the screen along with the product details.
After scanning through the entire list, I zeroed in on a particular Seagate Ext. HDD after going through its photos.
The HDD was just two months old and the price too was reasonable. So to finalize the deal, I started looking for the seller's phone number, scrolling down the page. But what I found was a pleasant surprise, that the Quikr team has now started a new feature -- QuikrNXT -- using which one can now easily chat with the product's seller, if he/she is online.
As my luck would have it, the HDD's seller too was online that time. So I initiated a chat with him and we discussed all details about the external hard disk and even finalised the day and time to meet and close the deal.
As decided, I went over to his place and he readily gave me a demonstration of the external hard disk, I checked its functions myself too and when I felt satisfied, I handed over the price amount and came back home happy and contented, with my new purchase. I have been using it ever since and have not faced any problems whatsoever with it. Once again Quikr made my purchase easier and quicker! The reason why I prefer Quikr over all other similar advertising portals is that Quikr does a background check too and only lists the genuine sellers. So it's trustworthy.
As always, the entire buying experience (searching, selecting and puchasing) this time too was a cakewalk. And the new feature that has been added -- QuikrNXT -- came as the icing on the cake. I really found the QuikrNXT very helpful and like me, I am sure, many others too would find it appealing.
QuikrNXT is indeed a welcome addition to Quikr basically for four reasons --
(1). It's free and convenient -- If the seller is online, a prospective buyer can now instantly chat with him/her and discuss all about the product, FOR FREE, unlike the earlier phone calls that one needed to make. Moreover, probably most people would find a computer chat more convenient than a phone call.
(2). Photo Sharing feature -- Now the sellers and buyers can even share photos of the product among themselves.
(3). Phone number privacy -- Not everyone, especially a seller, feels comfortable with sharing his/her phone number on a public listing site because not all callers are genuine prospective buyers, sometimes one gets unwanted calls too from fake buyers pretending to be genuine ones and that can be irritating. But now with QuikrNXT, one has the option of deselecting the visibility of his/her phone number while posting an ad.
(4) Chat History -- QuikrNXT also has a chat history, so one can now go through the previous conversations with a seller or buyer. This might come handy especially when negotiating the final price with a new buyer or seller, to see if the previous one had quoted a higher or lesser amount!
Thus buying/selling has now become easier and quicker with QuikrNXT!
