I have always been a romantic person and all my life, until two years back, I had loved winter the most among all seasons. More so the month of February (the month of love). But ever since I broke up with my now ex-fiancee, Sunita, some two years back, it suddenly started seeming to be the cruelest month to me. The month and more specifically, Valentine’s Day can be tough for those who are still single, especially with the lovey-dovey display all around. My last year's Valentine's Day was harrowing to say the least; while everyone around was excited and busy celebrating the special day with their partners, I spent the day all alone at home feeling miserable and depressed. That it was a Sunday, a holiday, didn't help either; otherwise I could have perhaps kept myself busy with office work. Of course I could have still planned beforehand to spend the day in a better way, but then I wasn't expecting it to be that bad. I virtually idled away the day at home doing nothing; I had never felt this bored before. The never-ending sequence of romantic movies that the TV channels continued to show, irked me even further and I switched it off. When I turned to the Internet, the social networking sites were flooded with the romantic messages all around, my mood turned somber even more and I logged off. I was in no mood to cook that day, so I decided to walk up to my favourite restaurant near my place, where I am a regular. But to my luck, when I reached there, all tables had already been occupied by couples and I was asked to wait for my turn. It seemed like the entire world was rubbing it in.
So this time too I started getting jittery as the D-day (V-day) approached. That it was falling on a Saturday, a holiday, made me dreary even more. Was it going to be like last year?
No, it wasn't to be. Rather this year, I celebrated my singlehood on Valentine's Day. So what if I haven't yet found the right person with whom I can settle down in life and spend the rest of my life with? I am sure I will meet her soon enough when the right time comes. But till that happens, why should I be sulking? Being single can be fun too.
As Oscar Wilde famously said, "To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance".
Rather than feeling sad about not having a special someone to celebrate the day with,
I decided to date myself and gift myself something that was elegant, stylish, and yet very entertaining too. Buying and gifting myself clothes would have been so mundane. Don't I do that all the time? I thought of buying myself a new gadget as a Valentine's day gift. Thus I landed at my favourite online shopping portal - Flipkart. Now while I was going through the deals for the day, my eyes fell on the new smart phone Asus Zenfone 5 A501CG. I instantly fell in love with it.
One wouldn't probably find a more exquisitely crafted smart phone than the Asus Zenfone 5. It's a commixture of intelligent technology and beautiful design. This slim and elegant phone features a 2x2 Intel Atom processor, six inch HD Display, Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and the intelligent ZenUI.
It comes with a 1.6 GHz Intel dual core processor, PowerVR GPU and 2 GB RAM by which one can enjoy flawless performance and responsiveness on the Asus Zenfone 5. With a powerful processor as this and adequate RAM memory, I can now multitask seamlessly, switch between apps without any lags, browse through heavy webpages effortlessly, and indulge in immersive 3D gaming on the Asus Zenfone 5.
The best part is its stunning 5-inch IPS display with 1280 x 720p HD resolution and 294 ppi, so I can enjoy a splendid mobile experience. Since it is powered by Asus TruVivid technology, it gives impressive visual clarity, beautiful colors and quality pictures. The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protects the Asus Zenfone 5 from scratches and accidental screen damages.
With its 13MP HD camera, I can now capture all my favourite moments. And with its Pixel Master technology, it can produce professional quality photos.
The phone comes with a timeless design flaunting a simple, ergonomic and innovative design which has undergone stringent quality testing. The design incorporates the iconic concentric circle finish with a unique fine texture which lends the phone a classic look and feel.
Asus's Sonic Master technology is designed to deliver an exceptional sound experience. This unique audio optimization technology has been developed by the Asus Golden Ear Team.
Since it gives Dual SIM and Dual Standby facility, I can now experience the power of two phones in one. I need not carry two different phones. Moreover, the Asus Zenfone 5 provides excellent signal reception, thanks to its advanced antenna design.
Its battery life is also splendid since it comes with 2110 mAh battery that gives up to 18 hours of 3G talk time and 353 hours of 3G standby time. Moreover, the low-power Intel processor, power-efficient antenna design and the power saving mode admixture ensures that the battery lasts long without deterring the performance. What more would I have wanted from a smartphone?
And since I chose the same day delivery option at Flipkart while purchasing the phone, so I got the phone the same evening. Thus this time, I didn't have to spend it all alone, rather I had my Valentne with me - the Asus Zenfone. I chose Asus Zenfone as my Valentine this time
because it gives me freedom, style, value, quality & entertainment.
Who says that singledom can't be exciting? It can be, when you have Asus Zenfone for company.
